Every object has an existence that can be shown as a 2D region (a bitemporal interval) in 2D time.
The diagram shows the bitemporal interval for the road segment ef.
2D bitemporal representation require that the same thing (attribute, object, segment etc.) has both sets of time values. If the bitemporality is mixed, then the lowest common denominator only can have its existence shoiwn in such a diagram.
