Exact method for linking in Java applications and applets is not yet public.
Possible options could be Java RMI, Corba either with or without a supplier IIOP server, JavaBeans wrappers to make them appear as COM objects… or vice versa.
Three-tier architectures are a likely possibility as a Corba demonstration using Gothic is already available through the Cambridge Tourist Office.
