OO GIS at Ispra

Project Vision: To establish at Ispra a permanent centre of expertise in object-oriented GIS technologies based around an in-house developed and maintained OO-GIS research application based on a commercial OO-GIS product.

Software Development Plan

There is no software development plan. It cannot be begun until we have an architecture:

Deployment architecture
Software Component Architecture
Data processing architecture

Milestones

Even without a plan, we can list some milestones that we are fairly sure will appear in the plan. These are tentative, not certain because we do not know yet what is required. In particular, we do not know precisely what software is included with IGIS 3.1+ and what we will have to write here.

All hardware installed (e.g. 128 MByte RAM, 4 MByte graphics card)
All commercial GIS installed (e.g. Gothic IGIS 3.1+)
All 3rd party software installed (e,g, eXceed, Visual C++ )
First test data imported into GIS native format.
Two users first use GIS at the same time.
Two users first check-out versions for modification at the same time.
First method in LULL is run.
First LULL method edited at Ispra is run.
